7 Deadly Sins
Again with the the type and background reveal its going to be a dark film which says that first impressions tell the audience if you want to watch it or not!
Snatch - Type Animation
kinectic type i dont think this is very effctive as you see it quite often nowadays the background is also very simple notice this isnt actually a title sequence why would you want to know what jokes are going to appear before you watched the program???

Print finishes:
Embossing and debossing.. Embossed the image/type stands up from the page goo finish as can often detract from printing therefore cheaper! debossed is where it is pushed down the type i love this finish as it makes you interact and feel the type.
Foil blocking: achieved by putting a foil onto a heated die onto a surface and pushing down which causes the foil to seperate from its backing.
Die cutting: die cutting is where a steel borders press and push down onto the card and effectively cut it out! designers now use this to real images type underneath for e.g

Varnishes:
- PEARLESCENT
Pearlescent varnish, when used, delicately reflects a whole gamut of colours, giving a subtle, luxurious effect - SPOT UV
Perhaps the most “designery” of the varnishes available, spot UV can be applied discretely to areas of a printed page so that when turned toward the light, these areas become highlighted
Today ive been looking at packaging and how it works getting into the mind of the designer and begining to think how thins are done and potentially printed.
think for packaging this cream is far too complex unsure where i shold be looking or what the product is?? possibly a hexographic print as there are a few very bright colours here!
I admire the rawness of the image above hand rawn cut out shapes on a recylced texture paper bold colours which are reversed front to back.
Printing on bags can be done in two ways screenprint onto ready made bag or print onto stock and hand folded im unsure which would be most cost efficent.
I put these on here as they are nets to very interesting packages:
Found these on a pattern for print blog which is absolutley fantastic! and got me really interested in designing bas wallpapers etc. simple repetive designs could possibly do something like this for the tea bag tag designs.
Oh my god seen these mages and was completely inspired so inspired i had to go draw a design out right away!! These arehand crafted and are just called paper cuttings if i wanting to achieve something like this in the print world as a finish i would have to get it sent away and laser cut which when i asked in the printers got told it is a very expensive method!! but by these results is so worth it! have to see how i get on with the laser cutter at uni.... hopeeful!! deffinatly be having a go at producing one off these in the future and framing it.
Greggs The home of fresh baking - Shop.mov
it always confuses me as greggs adverts realy push this idea of fresh baking and the fact it is all made in the shop on the day yet all the branding does not reflect this all the people have told about this are shocked to know it is all made.!! WHY IS THIS??

Tea rooms/delecatesants
All the range of teas which are availalable many more than i imagined anyway! Good for a range of tea tags which im looking to produce.
The way tihs box is looks so professional with the insert something which isnt that expensive to achieve printed on tracing paper.
interesting packaging printed on the bag looks like a sack and then stitched this would have been flexo printed then put together afterwards.

Tea packaging
I have began by brainstorming a lot of ideas onto a sheet on my chosen "GOOD" subject which is tea rooms and delecatesants.i have explored many different areas not always thinking of a print medium to begin with. so throughout this design context i am going to dig deeper into all the different sub catergories i have wrote down.. The first of these being tea packaging. I have been thinking about the form of tea and specifically the tea bag once squeeze and seeing how design can effect or add to the action of this. innotave ways to dispose of the bags etc. what materials are used and how companys make a range of products how the packaging changes for this such as colours. i really admire the twining loose early grey packaging i love the use of paper and the layers of it before you reach the product it looks expensive and adds to the want for twinings specialist products.
How tea is made.
Look at the chart above. Proccessing chart shows how white and black tea are made.
My initial reason why i have chosen tea.
I went into bettys tea room as my initial want for the old vintage tea rooms in harrogate the way yo walk in an the smell of the cafe flooded your nose fresh cakes and the warmth of tea.
Printing processes
Screenprint printing process at a commercial level: each board prints the cyan then magenta yellow and black until have a complete image! impressive takes the fun out of it if you ask me!!
Rotogravure
Offset Litho:
Lithographic printing (offset)
Rotogravure
Offset Litho:
Lithographic printing (offset)
most card based designs are produced this way magazines etc
Web
Large prints such as newspapers
Flexography (fexo)
not as accurate this is a relief transfer works best on different materials such as eco bags hessian plastic etc
Digital Printing
Only ever used on small print runs expensive
Screen printing
To print on T-shirts bags materials that can be strecthed flat.
Pad printing
transfering 2D screen images onto 3D objects such as lighters pens.
