SCALE FRAME AND FORMAT
Looking at different eye charts to decide how and the scale in which the objects are reduced to. The example below I believe doesnt really work from a distance the objects appear too small and some of the more modern design of chairs are hard to make out even on the 4th row down.
For the optional brief i want to create a calender so I have looked at a few examples which took my interest: This design is becoming more and more common yet I dont like the long strips but the colour are really attractive and bright draw your eyes.
I like the hand made finish on this design.
More professional look like foil blocking.
Photography driven
For this Ive had a idea of doing a collection/series of posters with one main statement image
The way things are photographed has a major impact on how we view it
Three months on each page look nice together more like a poster design I like the way they appear together as a set.
The illustration style on these calendars are really inspiring the quality of line and the simple use of colour is a perfect example to a brief which has such limitations are are often hard to resolve.
Again lovely black and white illustration with some mix media envolved I really like this experimental way of image making and applying this to something with structure.
Use of water colour not all digitally coloured which is nice to see the soft and delicate vibes you get from this I would suggest trying this out on a much more delicate stock
Type as image_ These are some of the best ones which I gathered one below has great fluid lines and very illustrative which I really like he way the type has been extened makes me look at type as shapes rather than letterforms. I can understand it better when i think of it like this the way which you can make other shapes from it and create letterforms using objects.
Editorial_ mos editorial articles for the guardian were these characterised illustrations which has made me think you can make images in any way and your style will be wanted in places which you probably wouldnt have thought.
